FWP News: Fish and Wildlife Commission makes adjustments to June 8 meeting agenda

HELENA – The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet June 8 in Helena at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks headquarters. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The meeting will be streamed live on the FWP website and YouTube. The public can participate in person or via Zoom. To make a comment via Zoom, you must register by following the link here by noon on Wednesday, June 7.

The agenda is as follows:

Fisheries 

  • Informational update – drought conditions
  • Temporary construction closure – Jefferson River
  • Beaverhead, Big Hole, and Ruby rivers fishing regulation proposals

Wildlife

  • Grizzly bear ARM – rulemaking
  • Mountain lion quotas and license descriptions
  • 2023-2024 bird dog training seasons on open public lands
  • 2023 deer season amendments

Parks and Outdoor Recreation

  • Consolidated Public Use Rules (ARM) for lands administered by FWP – Rulemaking
  • Private land recreation biennial rule renewal – Regions 1 and 2
  • Elk hunting access agreements

Legal

  • Rulemaking petition – Repeal of ARM 12.9.202 pertaining to Brinkman Game Preserve
