Feeding wildlife might seem like an act of kindness, but it can have detrimental consequences for both the animals and their ecosystems. Providing food to wild animals disrupts natural feeding behaviors, leading to dependence and potential health issues for wildlife. It also encourages animals to approach humans, increasing the risk of conflicts and compromising their ability to forage for natural, nutritious food. Furthermore, discarded human food can harm wildlife by promoting the spread of diseases and altering their diets in ways that may negatively impact their long-term survival. Respecting the natural balance of ecosystems and allowing wildlife to find their own food is essential for their well-being and the preservation of biodiversity.

In case you needed a visual reminder on why it isn’t a great idea to feed wildlife–here is one.
