On 02/08/2024 a male that was ice fishing and fell through the ice into the river. This was discovered after the male did not return home. The male’s belongings were located on and around the ice, as well as his vehicle where he had parked.
Recovery efforts were unsuccessful due to unsafe conditions and the darkness of the night. We are working on getting additional resources from other agencies to assist in the recovery of the male. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the people that will be working on this.
If you see law enforcement in the Martin Creek area please steer clear and allow them to work. Also, you may see out of the area law enforcement vehicles, and or Search and Rescue Vehicles. Just know they are here at the request of Sheriff Fielders to assist us in this matter.
