While interactions between whitetail bucks and coyotes are not uncommon, bucks typically use their antlers and size to intimidate rather than actively confront coyotes. Whitetail bucks are known to stand their ground when faced with predators, relying on their physical presence and sometimes vocalizations to assert dominance and scare off potential threats. However, direct confrontations where bucks actively scare off coyotes are less frequent, as both species generally avoid unnecessary conflict when possible. Instead, they usually rely on their respective adaptations and behaviors to minimize interactions and maintain their territories.
