HELENA – A proposed amendment for an item on the April 17 Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting agenda is available for public review and comment online.

The amendment, proposed by Commission Vice Chair Patrick Tabor, would establish catch-and-release fishing for both cutthroat and rainbow trout on the Swan River and require single-pointed hooks only from Piper Creek Bridge downstream to Swan Lake.

Comments on commission amendments can be emailed to the commission at this address: FWComm@mt.gov. Written comments will be accepted through April 11; comments will also be taken virtually during the meeting. The commission will meet virtually April 17 at 8:30 a.m. A Zoom registration link will be posted on the FWP website at a later date.
