According to a press release by Major League Fishing, on Tuesday, March 19, a boating incident occurred during Day 1 of the Toyota Series on the Harris Chain of Lakes in Florida. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries reported. However, upon investigation, it was found that both boaters intentionally disregarded a designated no-wake zone, leading to a collision between the boats.
There is a video below on YouTube posted by Eric Panzironi Fishing explaining the situation further:
Here’s the real story of what happened on the Apopka Beauclair Canal during Day One of the Major League Fishing Toyota Series on Harris Chain! Locked through with these guys, boater one in the front was Doug Reed and boater two that hit him is Mark Succi, from Lake Apopka that afternoon and were going to be late for way in. They decided to run the no-wake zones and crashed into each other at the bridge almost seriously injuring someone or even worst death!
Please, there is no reason to kill or hurt yourself over fish, follow all the laws of the water at all times especially during a tournament and responsible for another person’s life. Luckily everyone was okay and able to walk away alive!
Be careful out there, and remember to respect rules during tournaments.
