FWP News: Commission amendment proposed for April agenda item

HELENA – A proposed amendment for an item on the April 17 Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting agenda is available for public review and comment online. The commission will meet virtually April 17 at 8:30 a.m.

The amendment, proposed by Region 5 Commissioner Brian Cebull, would change the proposed waterfowl season dates in Zone 2 of the Central Flyway for 2024 to:

  • Ducks: Sept. 28, 2024 – Oct. 6, 2024; Oct. 26, 2024 – Jan. 21, 2025

  • Dark Geese: Sept. 28, 2024 – Oct. 6, 2024; Oct. 26, 2024 – Jan. 31, 2025

  • Youth Ducks/Geese: Sept. 21 – 22; 2024

  • Falconry Ducks: Sept. 18, 2024 – Oct. 6, 2024; Oct. 26, 2024 – Jan. 21, 2025

The proposed amendment moves the split season date one week later in Zone 2 of the Central Flyway for both ducks and dark geese.
