Attention boaters! 🚤⛵️🛶🛥 Let’s work together to protect Montana’s waterways from aquatic invasive species.

Mussel fouled boat #15 and was intercepted at the Wilbaux check station over the weekend. Mussels were abundant and found all over the boat, mainly on the hull and gimbal areas. Inspectors performed a full decontamination on site except for a motor flush because it was winterized. An FWP game warden was notified and will follow up with the boater. The boat was locked to the trailer, and a 30-day dry time was applied.

Watercraft inspection stations are Montana’s first line of defense against the movement of AIS, which can have devastating impacts on Montana waterways. Learn more at fwp.mt.gov/conservation/aquatic-invasive-species (via FWP)
