The following report is provided by Chancy and Dave’s Fish Camp:

  • Lake Mary Ronan: Excellent salmon fishing near Camp Tuffit. Try jigging 25 to 30′ water with Jt Tackle taildraggers or Hali jigs in pink or orange. Few nice perch also near bottom
  • East Bay (Flathead Lake) Perch bite still going well afternoon bite seems to be better as the water warms up. There been few nice smallmouth bass and pike mixed in also.
  • Thompson River: good brown trout action on lower end below Bend campground. Fly fishing try small streamers or nymphs. Spinners try Roostertails or Panther martins.
  • Loon Lake ( BigFork) Rainbows hitting along shoreline. Try powerbait in rainbow or small spoons. Flys try Wooly buggers or leeches patterns.
  • Rodgers Lake: Grayling bite excellent. Try small spoons in gold or or silver. Flys try small black leeches or dark colored nymphs. Few nice Cutts also.
  • Hungry Horse Reservior: fishing great for cutthroat along the shoreline trolling Thomas cyclone spoons or Berkley Flicker shads.
  • Koocanusa: Fishing well for nice rainbows in 3 to 5lb range a few bigger. Bull trout action doing well also. Troll Rapala scatter raps of planer boards or PlugIt plugs in Rainbow or black & silver color. Large trolling Flys working well also. Try Rexford area to long bridge!
  • Flathead River sloughs: doing well but very low water! Fennon limited access off River due to low water need small boat but bass and pike fishing has been good. Church slough good for pike and crappie but you can’t get a trailed boat in there due to low water. Small water craft until water comes up.
