Canyon Ferry: Shore fishing for rainbows has slowed down as they have moved offshore.  A few are still being caught while using nymphs, spawn sacks or worms throughout the reservoir. Boat anglers are doing good on rainbows while trolling rapalas, spoons or cowbells. The Silos area is producing walleyes around the ponds and White Earth with action happening on rapalas, bottom bouncers with a worm harness, or jigs with a worm. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Hauser: The walleye bite has been great on Lake Helena when the wind allows boats to get out safely and some nice perch are being caught as well. Most anglers have been trolling chartreuse or fire tiger-colored crankbaits, marabou jigs, or bottom bouncers and walleye spinners tipped with leeches or crawlers. A few walleye are being caught from the Causeway Bridge during the late evening hours while using slip bobbers and leeches or floating jigs tipped with crawlers. Rainbow fishing has been good below Canyon Ferry Dam while using spawn sacks, night crawlers, or small streamers. Trolling cowbells or ford fenders with wedding ring spinners and lead core line out from Black Sandy and the York Bridge area is also producing some nice trout.  Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena

Holter: Rainbow fishing has been great throughout the reservoir. Fly fishing with midge nymphs or bait fishing with spawn sacks, power bait, or nightcrawlers has been productive near the Gates of the Mountains. On the lower end of the reservoir, anglers are trolling cowbells or dodgers tipped with a spinner, or various crankbaits with lead core line. A few kokanee are being picked up while trolling similar equipment with downriggers just above the Dam. A few walleye and perch are being caught around various weed beds while pitching jigs tipped with crawlers or leeches.  Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
