When America wants fish, you give it fish—and sometimes that means handing it directly to a bald eagle.
In this case, a guy was slicing up fillets when an opportunistic eagle decided it didn’t feel like hunting that day. Instead, it swooped in and snatched a piece of fish right out of his hand. Turns out, bald eagles may be majestic hunters, but they’re also known for taking the easy route when it’s available. Scavenging is actually part of their natural behavior—they’ll steal from other birds, raid dumpsters, and apparently, help themselves to fresh-cut fillets. I mean, why dive when someone’s already done the prep work?
