Colstrip’s annual Kids Fishing Day fell on a bit of a blustery day in May, which was pretty typical for this spring. But kids from area schools got in a little fishing with new rods donated by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, following some quick lessons on water safety, casting, fish ID and hypothermia. Talen Energy hosted the event and Talen’s Brian Sullivan explained how the lake came to be. Rosebud-Treasure Wildlife Association volunteers helped the kids with bait and tips.
The hope is that they’ll continue to fish and enjoy the outdoors for years to come!
