Anglers across Region 6 will have some fresh opportunities to reel in rainbow trout this season. This past week, the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks fish culture team stocked several area ponds with catchable-sized rainbow trout, averaging 7 to 9 inches in length.
These stockings aim to provide enjoyable fishing experiences for youth, families, and all outdoor enthusiasts across eastern Montana. Here’s a breakdown of where the fish went:
- Glasgow Base Pond (Valley County): 1,000 fish
- VR009 (Lower Base Pond) (Valley County): 1,000 fish
- Kountz Pond (Prairie County): 250 fish
- Douchette Lake (Phillips County): 1,000 fish
- PR018 Reservoir (Phillips County): 250 fish
- Flintstone Reservoir (Phillips County): 1,000 fish
- Paleface Reservoir (Phillips County): 250 fish
- Snag Retention Reservoir (Phillips County): 500 fish

These efforts are part of FWP’s ongoing commitment to supporting accessible, high-quality fishing across Montana. Grab your gear and check out one of these freshly stocked waters near you.
