The other day I was driving through Yellowstone Park. I saw some amazing rocks that had a tree growing out of the stone! No dirt, soil, puddles, or flower pots, just a crack in solid rock.

Sometimes we complain about how hard life can be, but that tree just finds a way to survive and celebrate life. The strength of this tree helps the insects, birds, and others in the ecosystem. The seeds from this tree will be carried into the forest by birds and squirrels to grow offspring that are also the toughest trees in the forest.

In Yellowstone, the Mammoth area is a high-altitude desert. It’s the only area of the park where a type of rattlesnake can live. The winters are cold, and the summers are dry. Growing seasons are short but that tree seems happy and healthy. A healthy tree with all the advantages has an easier life.

If we compare every tree and guess which is the strongest, is it the tree growing in fertile soil or one that appears from a rock with less advantages. To be your strongest, or best, you need to be tested.

When things get tough, think about that tree.

Be Your Best!
