Canyon Ferry: Very few anglers got out fishing this past weekend. Those that did found walleye while fishing the east shoreline both north and south of Goose Bay. Trolling bottom bouncers with a worm harness in 20 to 30 feet of water or jigs with a worm provided the best action. Rainbows are being caught on walleye gear, lures or cowbells in the traditional walleye spots as well as the north end of the reservoir around Cemetary Island, mid-reservoir around Goose Bay and from the Silos to White Earth. Shore fishing is slow. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
Hauser: A few walleye, perch, and rainbow trout are being caught from the Causeway Bridge while using plain crawlers under a slip bobber or marabou jigs. A few trout are being caught from Black Sandy campground area with worms and marshmallows. The best rainbow action has been while trolling cowbells and spinner combos tipped with crawlers out from Spokane Creek Bay, and between the Powerlines and the Dam. Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
Holter: Rainbow fishing has been great while trolling cowbells and spinner combos, various spoons, or dark colored crankbaits throughout most of the reservoir. Some anglers are catching some nice trout from shore near Departure Point and the BLM boat ramp while using worms under a slip bobber, or leech pattern flies. Good numbers of perch and a few walleye are being found while jigging with worms around Willow Creek, Cottonwood Creek and other points and weed beds throughout the reservoir. Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir: Some anglers are having success while snagging in the reservoir and the canal near the discharge outlet. The snagging season for Kokanee Salmon opened on September 1st and will run through October 31st. Limits are 35 salmon daily with 70 in possession. Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
