Officials with the Custer Gallatin National Forest report that a section of the forest near the Gallatin River has been temporarily closed due to the presence of a wildlife attractant.
The closure affects the area east of the Gallatin River, including the Porcupine and Twin Cabin trails, Forest Service Road 653, and Forest Trail No. 199. It also encompasses Twin Cabin Trail No. 46 and Porcupine Trail No. 34.
Forest officials are urging visitors to stay out of the area and follow posted closure signs to help reduce the risk of encounters between humans and wildlife.
Officials say updates will be provided as conditions change.
