Montana Wants Your Two Cents Before Halloween

FWP opened public comment on eight projects this week. Here’s the lowdown:

• Spotted Dog WMA — controlled burns + aspen rescue. Due Sept. 30 (that’s basically now)

• Travelers’ Rest — new trails, new garage doors, and yes, the pavilion is moving. Due Oct. 1

• Smith River boat camps — round 2 of fixing banks that quit on us. Due Oct. 1

• Sacajawea Lagoon — NINE bass showed up. Nine! FWP wants them gone before they find the Yellowstone. Due Oct. 2

• Baker Lake — too many perch, all suspiciously small. Due Oct. 6

• Hannah Ranch — 99-year easement, 3,652 acres. Longer than your car loan. Due Oct. 9

• Glasgow Shooting Range — more rifles, more archery, day use. Due Oct. 23

• Stream Protection Act permits — the paperwork about the paperwork. Due Oct. 25
