Tongue River Reservoir State Park update as of 9.28.26

What’s new around Tongue River Reservoir? Plenty enough to warrant a quick update! Here’s the September 28 rundown from FWP, minus the park-ranger clipboard.

We hope you are enjoying the cooler weather. As of the week of October 1st, electricity for the campsites will be turned off for the winter for all sites except for Campers Point CP1-11. Sites CP1-11 will have electricity year-round. Water for the campsites will be turned off this week as well. The fish cleaning station is closed. The dump station remains open year-round, but with no water ($5.00 fee still applies). All campsites remain open year-round on a first- come, first-served, self-pay basis. Use the self-pay envelopes to pay with cash or check. Half of the restrooms will be closed for the winter but we leave one restroom at minimum open in each camping area. (Closed restrooms are marked with a small orange block). The Marina is closed for the season. The public docks will remain in for now.
The lake capacity is below 50% at a level of 3415′. Please use caution when boating. Fishing has been fair but reports are scarce. Call the park office at (406) 757-2298 with any questions.

Thank you and enjoy the coming holidays!
