Over the 4th of July weekend back in 2017, someone got insanely lucky and caught a wolverine in action near Ajax Mountain in Montana….seriously, sightings like this are as rare as they come. Wolverines are elusive, tough-as-nails predators, and in the lower 48, only about 300 are thought to be out there roaming. These feisty carnivores can cover 18-20 miles in a single day, and they are famous for their strength, aggression, and ability to survive in some of the harshest, snowiest terrain around. Even just seeing one on camera is incredible! Biologists spend countless hours tracking these creatures, so for someone to randomly capture one on video is one thing, but to capture one hunting, too? That is pretty darn cool…and in Montana, nonetheless!
