Fishing is a word that is perfect for us to relax and chill. Everything about fishing makes this sport a perfect way to relax and deal with life’s challenges.
I was a teacher for nearly 4 decades. Middle, High school and universities were my classrooms. My students were mostly wonderful, respectful, and hungry to learn. They tackled my classes with pleasure and joy.
Not everyone in education was happy in their jobs. Administrators, unsatisfied teachers, and frustrated parents made life Stressful. Students were adaptive and easier to work with. When the naysayers and jealous folks began to ruin what was a fun day, the stress would build up. Unhappy people may try to remedy the stress with drugs, alcohol, or something unhealthy.
That is when it was time to go fishing. Fish live in beautiful places. Water is what life is made of. The human body is just a Bag of Water. Our fluids, like blood, compose our body’s cells. I swear that when we are near the sounds and feel of water, our body relaxes.
The fish are just the excuse to get back to our basic cell structures. The process of fishing involves enough skills that we focus on fishing and not any stress in our lives. Before we know it, we are hooked on the relaxing joys of fishing.
Catching a fish becomes the new stress of our life. Not everyone manages the stress of getting skunked or losing a big fish the same way. The good news is with practice; fishing stress becomes less concerning. The joy of hooking, fighting, and landing a fish overcomes the bad stressors. A bad day of fishing is still better than things that cause misery in our lives.
If you choose to eat your catch, the fish renews our strength and health. The more we fish the less stress we feel. You can fish when you are young, old, on a budget, handicapped, or healthy. Fishing metaphors relate to so many aspects of our lives. There is a way to accommodate almost every angler’s needs.
Git yer limit!
