Let’s start with the headline act. If you bring your A-game and the fish cooperate, 1st Place is now a guaranteed $20,000 cash payout (based on a minimum field of 175 boats). That is serious, truck-payment-altering money.
But wait, there’s a twist. What if your A-game looks a little more like a D-plus? What if you’re… well, let’s just say on par with Downrigger Dale’s legendary lack of fishing luck?
The “Pure Luck” Payouts: $40,000 Up For Grabs
This is where things get brilliant. The organizers have introduced a random-weight drawing system that levels the playing field entirely. Here is how it works:
- Each day (July 10th and July 11th), four random total weights will be drawn.
- The teams holding those exact weights win cold, hard cash.
- The catch? The top 10% of the leaderboard is excluded from this drawing.
If the tournament hits a full field of 200 teams entering the random-weight pool, that translates to a staggering $5,000 per draw, four times a day. That is $20,000 on Friday and another $20,000 on Saturday awarded entirely by the luck of the draw. - Complete the Form: Every single field on the form must be filled out, or your application gets tossed back into the lake.
- Pay Upfront: You must pay the entry fee at the exact time you submit your registration.
- Side Pots: You can enter side pots right away during registration, or add them on later if you need to consult your lucky rabbit’s foot first.
