According to a press release by Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, a Rocky Mountain Bighorn ram fell victim to poaching near Baker City last November, with the perpetrator callously taking only the head and horns and leaving the rest to waste. In response, the Oregon Wild Sheep Foundation (OR WSF) has stepped up, offering an additional $2,000 to the standard rewards from the Oregon Hunters Association (OHA) and the Oregon Wildlife Coalition (OWC), bringing the total reward to $4,500. The public is urged to come forward with any information leading to the arrest or citation of the poacher, with an option to remain anonymous. Such acts of poaching not only pose serious legal consequences but also endanger the long-term conservation efforts and appreciation of these iconic species, which hold significant value for both hunters and non-hunters alike.

We know this is not Oregon, but we know that people travel outside of Montana, so anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Oregon State Police Dispatch.
