The following fishing report is by CrossCurrents Fly Shop:

Current Flows: 5,100+
Weather Forecast: Mid to High 60s for the week, warms up on the weekend with a Mix of Sun & Clouds
Hatch Report: Caddis, BWOs & Midges

Wake up late and have a slow morning with your coffee (Unless you have kids cuz well they’re not going to sleep in for you) — Anyways, there’s no rush to get out on the Mo’ right now because the BWO hatches have been really strong but fortunately for you, they’re happening in the early afternoon. Start time around 2P and then lasting till 4Pish all along the river. It’s a great time to be out especially with all this moisture we’ve gotten in the past two weeks. There’s nothing like the rain bringing you confidence for a nice water year on the Missouri River for the summer.

Nymphs: Psycho May (Olive), Lazer Pupa, Pedersons Sow, Duracell, Warrior Perdigon, Frenchie, Spanish Bullets, Jig Napoleon, Green Machine
What’s interesting about this time of year is the water will be blanketed with midges but trout are not eating them. They’re looking for the seasonal filet mignon a.k.a the blue wing olive. For nymphing, go deep in the morning 6 to 7 feet. In the afternoon go 3 to 5 feet — you’ll need to put that nymph at the top of the water column as the trout expect the bugs to be emerging from the bottom and they’ll be looking up.

Dry Flies: Cornfed Caddis, BWO Hackle Stacker, Purple Haze, Hi-Vis Rusty Spinner, Pizza Fly, Missing Link
Headhunt and make sure you got risers. Set up above the rising fish. Get a natural drag and let the trout take the fly then SET!

Streamers: Lil’ Kim, Sparkle Minnow, Bow River Bugger, Heisenberg (Bow), Sex Dungeon, Urchin Bugger
