If your weekend plans look a little fishy, we’ve got some spectacular news for you. Dust off your tackle boxes and get ready to make a splash, because Montana Pikemasters announced that the Annual Leonard Lawver Memorial Kids Fishing Day is officially locked in for Saturday, June 6th, 2026!
Whether your kiddo is a seasoned casting pro or can’t tell a nightcrawler from a pool noodle, this event is the perfect excuse to get outside, soak up some sun, and maybe even catch “the big one.”

- Who: Families and kids ages 16 and younger

We’ve stripped away all the usual barriers to entry so you can focus entirely on having fun. Here is what makes this day a total keeper:
- No Gear? No Problem: You don’t need to empty your wallet at the sporting goods store. You can check out a fishing pole right at the event (just make sure to grab yours by 2:00 PM).
- No License Required: Skip the paperwork! Fishing licenses are NOT needed for anyone participating in the event.
- Free Grub & Upgrades: What’s a day at the pond without some fuel? We’re serving up a FREE lunch for the families.
- Prizes for the Kids: Every single angler aged 16 and under will walk away with a prize. No empty-handed sad faces on our watch!
