Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 7.16.26

Walleye- Crawlers and slow death hooks with either a single bead or small prop spinner in 15-25 FOW. Found some bigger fish a little deeper that took jigs and crawlers.

Lake trout- Deep flats in 105-125 FOW have some decent schools on them. Fish are moving around a lot so staying on top of them from one day to the next can be a little tough.

Northern Pike- Pretty much everywhere right now. Trolling crankbaits in 25-35,casting spoons in the weeds, and dragging minnows on jigs behind the boat are all catching good numbers of fish.

Salmon- 8” flashers and flys have been working the best for us. Targeting 55-80 FOW has produced the most fish for us and bottom depth hasn’t mattered much. Fish are really scattered out so most likely you’ll have to cover some ground to find some success. Trolling speed has been 2.1-2.2.
