2026 Fall Mack Days: Week 3 Update
2026 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event on Flathead Lake is sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes is underway. The nine-week long event began September 10th and will end on November 8th. An overall total of 5,632 lake trout turned in to date.
Fisherman & women come from all over hoping to catch the $10,000 fish, which has been caught three times since this competition has begun in 2002. There are also tagged fish with values from $100-$5,000.
Eight tagged fish have been caught in the first three weeks, with a combined total of over a thousand dollars.
Larry Karper is leading with the smallest fish, measuring 144mm, Devon Bukowski also turned in a small fish measuring 160mm.
There have been no large fish turned in yet for the largest fish competition.
Top anglers are Terry Krogstad with 742, Devon Bukowski with 371, Larry Karper with 349, Jack Kirkland with 342, Patrick Casey with 326, Mike Coyler with 326, Clint Speer with 322, David Kelch with 320, Richard Kreis with 305, Mike Benson with 280, Larry Ashwell with 268, Bob Stewart with 194, John Gauci with 182, Paul Grove with 108, Cory Speer with 61, Shane Solomon with 50, Justin Bair with 49, Mark McMillin with 36, Jerry Benson with 34, and Richard Lederle with 33.
Laurie Kreis is leading the lady anglers with 166, Julie Perkins is in second with 122, third place is Shaunda Albert with 113, fourth places is Angie Marrow with 48 lake trout entries. Lincoln Gauci is leading the youth with 21, Carter Lindsay is second with 4, third place is Royce Couture with 3.
This weekend we had a happy accident that resulted in two drawings: one for the catch from Friday and Saturday, and one from Sunday’s catch.
Results are: Friday & Saturday drawing winners: Luke Pickens $200, Terry Krogstad $100, and Mike Benson $100. Sunday drawing winners were; Bob Stewart $200, Bob Church $100, and David Kelch $100.
Entries continue to be taken until the last day of the event. Fish one day or several days. Every entry put you in the lottery drawing and gives you the chance to win.
