CWD sampling easy, accessible and free in Region 7

A crew of CWD technicians observes CWD coordinator Tyler Nelson collecting retropharyngeal lymph nodes from a doe collected by Warden Greg Konitz. The techs are training on how to collect samples from deer and elk brought to FWP’s Miles City headquarters or to various CWD sampling stations around southeast Montana’s Region 7. Once general season opens this weekend, hunters will have several options to obtain sampling services to have their animals tested, or they can submit samples themselves.
