Are you taking bear spray with you on your hunt tomorrow? If so, thank a Griz.

The hunter called the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office as soon as he was able to report the incident.

The grizzly bears were relocated to the Grassy Lake drainage, approximately one-half mile from the southern boundary of Yellowstone National Park.

A hiker was injured in a bear attack near Squirrel Creek in Fremont County on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 30. 

On the afternoon of Sept. 16, a male, age 29, sustained injuries from a bear while hiking on the Turbid Lake Trail, located northeast of Mary Bay in Yellowstone Lake.

In the early morning hours of last Sunday, August 17th, Deputies were dispatched to a call for service at the Ice Cream Shop at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe. The deputies could barely believe their eyes as they saw a large bear behind the counter of the shop.

It all started on June 7, when the bear crushed an unoccupied tent at the campsite.

A mountain biker safely managed a close encounter with a bear while riding on the Starry Goat Trail on national forestland near Troy last week. 

A bear has been euthanized after exhibiting agressive behavior toward people in an area near the Montana-Canada border.

This poor bear seems to think it is having an identity crisis….

Effective March 1, 2024, food storage regulations will be reinstated annually from March 1- December 1, 2024, across five ranger districts within the Custer Gallatin National Forest: Bozeman, Hebgen Lake, Gardiner, Yellowstone, and Beartooth.

The bear had taken shelter in a crawlspace.
