The Bureau of Land Management has announced a series of holiday affordability measures that will help families save money, enjoy public lands, and support wildfire prevention efforts across Montana during the 2025–2026 winter season.

he wheeled motorized vehicle closure on National Forest System Road (NFSR)#2004 (Hellroaring Road), located approximately 10 miles south of Red Lodge and providing access to the Hell Roaring Plateau Trailhead, has been extended, from August 1, 2025 through September 30, 2025 for public safety due to equipment use during bridge installation on the Beartooth Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest.

The work will begin two (2) miles north of North Fork, Idaho, to the Idaho/Montana State Line at Lost Trail Pass. This wood will be available to the public with a permit.

The nursery will be open May 15-16.
