Apparently, it’s not just Montana’s and Yellowstone’s wildlife keeping folks on their toes—over in Grand Teton, a crafty little fox has turned sneaker theft into a full-time gig. What started with a few missing shoes has snowballed into a stash of 32 (and counting). No one’s quite sure what the fox is doing with its growing collection…maybe building a shoe fort? Launching a backcountry fashion line? Whatever the motive, the message is clear: when wild animals get cozy with human stuff, things can go awry pretty fast. It doesn’t matter if you’re camping in Wyoming or right here in Montana, stash your shoes, your snacks, and anything smelly where wildlife can’t get to them. A curious critter today could be a relocated, or euthanized, one tomorrow. Let’s keep the wild wild, not wandering around in Crocs!
