According to a recent article on KPAX, Sunday turned into something straight out of a wildlife movie along I-90 when four bull elk were stuck in a frozen pond, and things looked pretty grim. Luckily, local photographer Beth Moos showed up with her camera—and perfect timing—to capture the whole rescue. After law enforcement and FWP tried everything from ice melt to rubber bullets, the real hero ended up being a helicopter pilot who swooped in and guided the elk to safety. The bulls scrambled over a couple of fences and disappeared into a field, and Beth walked away with some incredible shots and one unforgettable morning.
