The Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an emergency aircraft landing this afternoon involving a privately-operated plane carrying two occupants.
Preliminary information indicates that the aircraft, piloted by Montana U.S. Senator Tim Sheehy, made an emergency landing in a private field near the town of Ennis in Madison County. Both individuals on board exited the aircraft safely, and no injuries have been reported.
First responders arrived on scene and secured the area. A minor fuel leak was observed following the landing; however, responding personnel quickly contained and remediated the situation. There is no ongoing risk to public safety.
The incident remains under review, and appropriate federal aviation authorities have been notified. No additional details are available at this time.
