While we’re busy obsessing over our hiking trails, fly-fishing waters, and killer sunsets, we tend to forget that “the outdoors” doesn’t just stop at the tree line. It goes all the way up. And apparently, the universe is looking right back down at us.
We already knew Big Sky Country was the ultimate getaway for a zombie apocalypse (thanks to all that breathing room), but according to a recent article via KGVO, a new ranking has us looking at our wide-open spaces a little differently. According to data tracked down by Casino.ca and highlighted by the New York Post, Montana cracks the top 10 states where you’re most likely to get beamed up by aliens.
Specifically, we land at #7 for the most UFO sightings per capita.
When you think about it, it actually checks out. Our infamous dark skies and lack of light pollution make Montana the perfect, low-profile rest stop for interstellar travelers. So, next time you’re out enjoying the great outdoors, just remember to keep one eye on the trail and the other on the stars—because you might not be the only one out exploring!
