Good news for Montana’s outdoorsmen! If you’ve been earning your hunter education badge from the comfort of your couch, Bainville is hosting the real-world finale on Sunday, Oct. 11, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., kicking off at the Fire Hall — and since this might be the last field day the area ever sees, consider it a limited-edition opportunity.
Anyone 11-and-turning-12-by-Jan-16 or older qualifies, and grown-ups 18+ can tag along purely for the hands-on fun (no certificate required). Finish the online course first, then show up with your qualifier certificate in hand, because you’ll be drilled on the two classics — firearm safety and hunting ethics — using inert guns, plus bonus side quests like blood trailing, game recovery, bear awareness and more.
