On December 20, 2012, Montana’s FWP Commission will meet in Helena.  They will consider the final approval of a statewide fisheries management plan and the Helena plan to manage deer within the city limits.

The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at FWP’s Helena headquarters, 1420 E. Sixth Ave.

Here are some other issues the Commissioners will consider approving:

  • new rules for Montana State Parks fees and the Smith River
  • final approval on water rights on Nevada Spring Creek near Helmville
  • 2013 fishing regulations for Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge east of Monida
  • a Spotted Dog Wildlife Management Area grazing lease near Deer Lodge
  • wildlife management area rules
  • bighorn sheep transplant to the Bridger Mountains near Bozeman

The Statewide Fisheries Management Plan will help set future FWP fishing regulations, budget and project priorities, and routine management decision-making processes. The proposed final plan, decision notice, and public comments are available via FWP’s website.
