Here’s some interesting news from a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.  The following is from McRae-Helena, Georgia.

Looks like investigators are onto something big in the case of Bud and June Runion’s tragic deaths back in January 2015.

Just recently, a local stumbled upon a .22 caliber rifle while out magnet fishing in Horse Creek on Old Prison Camp Road. But wait, there’s more…

They also found a bag filled with the Runions’ IDs, credit cards, and even a cell phone believed to be theirs.

After some thorough digging, the GBI agents and Telfair County Sheriff’s Office didn’t waste any time. They swooped in, executed a couple of search warrants at a nearby home, and uncovered some promising evidence.

Now, it’s a waiting game as they send everything off to the crime lab for analysis.

You just never know what you will find when you’re fishing.
