Slumbering hunter attacked by bear

Idaho Fish and Game officials are investigating a bear attack on an Idaho hunter.
A man was recovering from the attack that happened on Sunday at the Frank Church River-of-No-Return Wilderness. The 29-year-old Boise man awoke to a the bear pulling his hair.
He shouted and someone else in the party shot the young male black bear. The bear was fatally shot again after it climbed up a tree.
The bighorn sheep hunters field dressed the bear and handed the hide over to officials.
Idaho Fish and Game said the bear appeared to be healthy.
The man’s injuries were not serious.
