ICE REPORT: Please take precautions and continue to check ice thickness. Stay safe!
Causeway: Ice is solid about 8-12 inches of ice. Across from White Sandy has 10”-12” of ice. Trout bite was particularly hot. We’d recommend using some Swedish Pimples tipped with worms or smelt (smelt and glow hooks will be the go to for ling). With colder weather this week ice should start forming but please be extra careful as ice conditions are subject to change.
Holding Reservoir: Fishing has been okay—continue jigging Swedish Pimples tipped with smelt. Salmon fishing is productive and the perch bite has been decent. Ice has thinned and snow cover is gone.
Canyon Ferry: Ice is starting to pull away from the shoreline and the top layer of snow has melted off—so ice is starting to thin. There is still some safe ice by Duck Pond #4 but getting onto the ice may be tricky along the shoreline. Fishing has been good for perch and trout have been productive from the silos down. Suspended maggots on tip-ups have been the ticket.
Holter Lake: Ice is gone.
