(KALISPELL, Mont.) FWP personnel are investigating a bear attack on an adult male hunting in the Twin Creek area along the east side of Hungry Horse Reservoir. The attack occurred Sunday morning September 24, 2017. The injured victim drove with his hunting partner to the hospital to receive medical attention.
The Region One FWP Wildlife Human Attack Response Team was dispatched to the area immediately upon notification. The incident is still under investigation, but initial reports are that this was a surprise encounter in a very brushy area. They did shoot at the bear during the attack and the bear ran off.
