Fresno is currently about 40% full, pretty normal for this time of year. Walleye fishing is best during the low light periods of the day. I prefer fishing the main lake point areas jigging. I fish in 8’ – 15’ then will move up on top of the points in 6’ – 2’ of water with tip ups with salted minnows. During normal light periods, I’m fishing the basin areas for crappie and perch using small jigs.

You may want to try where the main lake and Kremlin Bay meet. Look for at least 25’. Nelson is about 50% full, again pretty normal for this time of year. I fished there on Thursday the 8th. I caught 12 walleyes and 7 northerns on tip ups with live minnows.

Northern bit better in the normal light and walleyes better after 4 pm. A front moved in and I left biting fish. Best depth was 10’. I did keep two walleyes and one northern to eat. Walleyes ran from 16.5” to 23.5”.

Please fish and retain responsibly.
