Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 2.6.25

We fished out of Rock Creek this past week and started with 8-9 inches of ice and with the cold weather through the week are finding 10-11 inches now. There are some small “mini” pressure ridges to be very cautious of, We found one that didn’t have enough ice to step on and was about 3 feet wide. They look like the bigger pressure ridges but the ice pushed up is about 10-12 inches high.

Fishing for lakers was good along drop offs and points at depths from 55-80 feet using tube jigs and paddletails. Walleye, pike and a surprise smallmouth were caught on tip ups from 8 out to 18 FOW  with suckers and fathead minnows.

There’s a fair amount of snow out there now making variations in the ice difficult to see so be cautious and check your ice frequently.

Good luck!
