Heading out to Lost Trail Pass? Take note of potential delays:
The Forest Service and Idaho Transportation Department will begin Hazard Tree Removal for the safety of the public beginning Monday, June 2 through June 5 and again on Monday, June 9 through June 12.
The work will begin two (2) miles north of North Fork, Idaho, to the Idaho/Montana State Line at Lost Trail Pass. Crews will be removing dead hazard trees which may fall onto the highway corridor or area powerlines.
Heavy equipment will be present during the falling operation, please drive with caution. Crews will be working in the area from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public should plan for 15-minute delays during the above listed dates and times.
The trees removed during the project will be moved to Trail Gulch and west of the Elk Run Ranch south of Moose Creek Estates. This wood will be available to the public with a permit.
