The Kids Are Taking Over Laurel Pond
If you’ve been looking for a reason to get the kids away from the glowing screens and out into the fresh Montana air, the Montana Pike Masters have cooked up the perfect bait. On Saturday, June 6th, Laurel Pond (found within the scenic Lions Family Park) will transform into a buzzing hub of bobbers and big catches for the Annual Leonard Lawver Memorial Kids Fishing Day.
The Details
This isn’t just a “sit and wait” kind of afternoon. From 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, the shorelines will be packed with the next generation of anglers. Whether your kid is a seasoned pro who can tie a Palomar knot in the dark or a total rookie who thinks a “spinner” is just a fidget toy, this event is designed for everyone ages 16 and younger.
Gear and Goods
The best part? The price tag is exactly $0.00. It’s a completely FREE event aimed at honoring Leonard Lawver’s legacy by sharing the love of the sport. Here is what to expect:
- Poles for Everyone: Don’t have gear? No problem. You can check out fishing poles until 2:00 pm.
- The Goods: It’s not a party without snacks. There will be food, prizes, and enough fun to keep even the most restless toddler entertained.
- The Atmosphere: High energy, low pressure, and plenty of “did you see that?!” moments.
Tips for Parents
- Arrive Early: The fish usually wake up before the teenagers do.
- Sunscreen is Your Friend: The Montana sun doesn’t play favorites.
- Check the Website: For more info on the club’s mission or to see photos from previous years, head over to www.montanapikemasters.com.
So, grab the sunscreen, pack the “lucky” hat, and head down to Laurel. It’s time to find out if there really is a monster living at the bottom of the pond—or at the very least, enjoy a free lunch while the kids try to find out.
See you there!
