By order of the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission, black bear management unit 700 closes to all black bear hunting one-half hour after sunset this Friday, September 25, 2026 — so if that tag is still riding around in your pack, Friday night is your last call. After that, the bears get the woods back to themselves.
