Opening day in northwest Montana has a rhythm all its own — thermoses before dawn, camo that smells faintly of last season’s campfire — and this year there’s a new stop on the loop. Shadow Enterprises at 1035 West Center Street in Kalispell, Montana is hosting its first annual Fall Big Game Classic, and the entry requirements are refreshingly modest: bring your tagged harvest during business hours, and please, no need to drag in the whole animal. A skull will do. Deer, elk, moose…all three are fair game, and the contest is open to every age, which technically makes Grandpa and the twelve-year-old direct competitors!
Every qualifying head earns a spot on the Big Game Fall Classic Photo Board and a name in the hat, and once the 2026 season closes, three names get pulled at random on December 4th. First prize is a Savage Axis .308 wearing a Leupold VX-Freedom 4-12×40, second is a pair of Leupold BX-1 Marksman 12×50 binoculars, and third is a $500 gift card tied to Shadow Enterprises and VanAuto.
One entry per person, all game laws apply. Good luck!
