Colt Trogden measures a good day in inches and pounds, and his tape was feeling generous! The Fort Peck local, all of thirteen years old, reeled in something off the bank that had clearly been eating well, and when the dust settled there it was: a 43.5-inch, 29.20-pound hunk of freshwater muscle.
Word got out through Lakeridge Lodging and Bait Shop, who shared the picture on their social media page (see below), and this one didn’t need any embellishing at all.
A young teen, a spinning rod, and a crankbait — that’s the whole recipe, and somehow it produced a Chinook that everyone else will be chasing for the rest of the season.
Nicely done, Colt!
