Canyon Ferry: Walleye fishing continues to be good with the most action happening mid-reservoir north and south of White Earth. Other areas producing walleyes are around Ponds 2 and 3, Duck Creek and Hellgate while trolling bottom bouncers with various color spinner blades or casting jigs in 20 to 30 feet of water. A few perch are being caught by anglers using walleye rigs in these same areas. Rainbows are being caught on walleye gear, lures or cowbells in the traditional walleye spots as well as the north end of the reservoir. Shore fishing has produced a few rainbows around the Silos and White Earth. Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
Hauser: Walleye fishing has been good while using various jigs and leeches from the Causeway Bridge, inside the Causeway arm, and around the Eldorado Tailing. A few perch are being caught while fishing for walleye. Rainbow fishing has been good early in the morning below Canyon ferry dam while fishing from shore with crawlers and a marshmallow or powerbait, and between York Bridge and Black Sandy while either trolling cowbells and spinner combos tipped with crawlers or blue and silver crankbaits. Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
Holter: The walleye and perch bite has been great lately while using various jigs tipped with crawlers or leeches around Mann Gulch, Cottonwood Creek, and around other small bays and weed beds throughout the reservoir. Good numbers of Rainbows continue to be caught while trolling dodgers or cowbells with wedding ring style spinners on the lower end of the reservoir from Split Rock to the Dam or across from Cottonwood Creek. A few kokanee salmon are being caught between the Dam and the Boat Loft. The best kokanee bite has been early in the morning, while trolling between 50 and 70 feet below the surface and using dodgers or cowbells with kokanee spinners tipped with shoepeg corn.
