Montana Fishing Reports: Summer Bite Still Going Strong

August is here, and while the dog days of summer can make fishing a little more challenging, plenty of Montana waters are still producing. Early mornings and late evenings continue to be the best windows for trout, while warmwater anglers are finding solid action for bass, walleye, and perch throughout the state. Reservoir levels remain favorable in many areas, and anglers are adjusting presentations as fish settle into deeper water during the heat of the day.

Whether you’re chasing trout in the mountains or spending a day on one of Montana’s many lakes, there’s still plenty of opportunity to fill the cooler and make some memories.
