
Glacier National Park will pilot a ticketed shuttle to Logan Pass in summer 2026, including early-morning express routes. Starting July 1 (weather permitting), Logan Pass parking for private vehicles will be capped at three hours. The park says vehicle reservations won’t be required anywhere in 2026.

A new National Park Service report shows that in 2024, 3.2 million park visitors spent an estimated $458 million in local gateway regions while visiting Glacier National Park. These expenditures supported a total of 5,190 jobs, $217 million in labor income, $359 million in value added, and $656 million in economic output in local gateway economies surrounding Glacier National Park.

On Wednesday, August 27, a woman hiking in a group on the Highline Trail in Glacier National Park, tripped and sustained fatal injuries from a fall.

In 2018, the National Park Service discovered a substantial rise in nutrient concentrations in Lake McDonald, one of Glacier’s most visited lakes. Increases in nutrients, mainly nitrogen and phosphorus, can cause nuisance growth of algae, threatening the clarity of the park’s lakes, which are among the area’s biggest draws.
