Wolf Creek Fishing Access Site on the Missouri River will be the starting line June 2 for the Cow Country Classic bicycle race.

Because the FAS will serve as the registration point and starting line for the race, Fish, Wildlife and Parks is asking anglers along the Missouri that day to consider using other nearby fishing access sites.

Wolf Creek FAS sits about three miles downstream of Holter Dam and at the intersection of the river recreation road and Beartooth Road that leads to Holter Reservoir. It’s a popular put-in and take-out point on the Missouri River.

Race registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the race lasting until about 2 p.m.

Areas for camping and parking for anglers will be reserved at the FAS but may be limited during the race.

During the race, anglers should consider alternate sites or reaches of the river to float to minimize congestion. Race organizers will have volunteers to direct parking and maintain traffic flow into the FAS and the boat ramp to minimize inconvenience to anglers.
